Abstract Submission Period

July 10 to September 11, 2018, noon (JST) September 18 (Tue.), 2018, noon (JST) Abstract submission has been closed.

Please follow the guidelines below to submit your abstract to JOA2019. Please note that we do not accept any e-mail submission.

Travel Grants

The 92nd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Orthopaedic Association encourages orthopaedic surgeons in other countries to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations. The travel grant of 100,000 JPY will be awarded to about 15 applicants. After confirming the guidelines below, please submit your abstract online. All submitted abstracts are eligible for the travel grant application.

To applicants

  • Orthopaedic surgeons who apply from countries other than Japan are eligible.
  • An applicant must be the first author and presenter of the submitted abstract.
  • Travel grants will be provided for the awardees after presentation of their abstract on-site.
  • Please note that complimentary accommodation will not be offered, and all arrangements for the applicant's transportation to the venue and accommodation during the congress period will be the applicant's responsibility.
  • Result of the review will be announced in acceptance notifications sent by e-mail in December, 2018.
  • There is no age limitation.

How to Submit

Please click the "SUBMISSION" button below when you submit for the first time. If you wish to submit another abstract or to amend your submitted abstract, please click SUBMISSION button again and login with your ID number and Password which will be noticed by e-mail after you finished initial submitting of your abstract.

Word Limit

Abstract title: up to 20 words

Abstract text: up to 200 words

In principle, abstracts published in The Journal of the Japanese Orthopaedic Association must be structured abstracts. Please type colon (:) after each section title to make it easier to read.

A brief summary of your abstract: up to 80 words

Please note that you are required to submit a brief summary of your abstract within 80 words, which is to be printed in the onsite program.

All applications must be submitted on-line.
The presentation should be in the form of an oral presentation, performed in PowerPoint, or a poster presentation.
